Question:
I have a trailer with 4.80-8 tires 4 lug on it. I would like to run down the road safely at Texas highway speeds which range from 65-80 mph. So I need a tire that can handle high speeds for long periods of time at 75-80 mph. What tire do I need? Do they make a tire in that size that can handle them speeds? For long periods of time? Or do I need to put larger rims and tires on it? And if I need to put larger rims and tires on it are all 4 on 4 rims the same? Height does not matter. Trailer does not have any fenders on it. Thanks,

To get to the higher speed rating for a trailer tire you have to go to the 12 inch size. We currently sell the Taskmaster 4.80-12 Bias Trailer Tire - Load Range # TTWSF48012C. This is a tire only. You could then choose a wheel like the 12 inch Dexstar Mini Mod # AM20140 with a 4 on 4 inch lug pattern. You could have these mounted at a local shop.
Overall this will be 4.4 inches taller than what you currently have.
