Can Surge Coupler in Brake Kit T74843300 Mount to Tongue Of Trailer that is 2-1/2 inch Square
Question:
My trailer has a 2 1/2inch square tongue, can the swing-away coupler designed for a 3inch X 5inch tongue be adapted to my trailer? Can the swing-away coupler be welded to a 2 1/2 inch square tongue? Can you tell me the location of the bolts on the swing-away coupler relative to the center line of the tongue / coupler? Also the diameter of the bolts? My concern is that the bolt-on configuration my interfere with the walls of my 2 1/2inch square tongue. On a separate item, the kit depiction does not show a caliper-to-axle flange mounting plate. Does the kit include the caliper mount bracket? Thanks

If you fabricated a spacer setup on your trailer tongue so that the Titan Disc Brake Kit part # T4843300 was basically attaching to a 3 inch by 4 inch section of channel this would fit and work fine.
Since you will have to weld the spacers to the tongue of the trailer to allow this to install your best option would be then to have the coupler welded to the spacers at that point. This way you don't have to worry about the bolt holes not lining up perfectly or have to worry about the included bolts not being long enough.
They aren't pictures but the kit does come with the brake mounting flanges at as well.
