I spoke with my contact at Hopkins about wiring harness # HM40615. Looking at the relay with the metal tab facing up and pointed away from you the terminals have the following functions:
12 o'clock position = red power wire from converter to relay
3 o'clock = white ground wire
6 o'clock = red power wire out to vehicle battery
9 o'clock = black wire to vehicle left side connectors

You said black wire to vehicle left side connectors?? What does the black wire connect to? Running lights? Stop lights? This is the signal wire that turns power on for the converter via the relay. What circuit is supposed to activate the relay, running lights?
