Edge Tuners & Mileage Performance for 2012 Ford F-250 6.7L V8 Diesel

Searching the web to find true value of this device. I had one on my 2007 gas 5.4 F150 and it really woke the truck up. Really dont need to wake the 250 up but would like to know does it really help with fuel economy. Not towing I get between 17.5-18.5 average which is great, towing my 28foot TT more around 12. Thanks for any insight.

The Edge Insight CTS2 # EP84130 that works with your 2012 Ford F-250 6.7L V8 does not provide tuning functions; it is only a monitoring device that displays data from the truck's OBD-II port. The Edge products for your truck that actually do provide tuning options include the Diesel Evolution CS2 Performance Tuner # EP85300 and the EvoHT2 Hand-Held Performance Tuner # EP16040, both of which are displayed on the linked page.

When you tow you will want to use the tow setting typically. The economy tune included with these devices is intended for when you are not towing a trailer and will typically deliver a modest gain in fuel economy of 1 or 2 mpg. Depending on your trailer's weight you may be okay towing it without using the tow setting (keeping the tuner in stock tune mode) since you are starting with a beefy power plant in the first place. We do not recommend using the economy setting when towing.
