Can a Curt E-16 truck bed hitch be used with the Sidewinder camper hitch? If not, what recommendations for a truck hitch do you recommend?

Yes, the Curt E-16 5th wheel hitches such as # C16115 are compatible with Reese Sidewinder replacement pin boxes. If your E-16 hitch is a slider hitch then it will have to stay locked in the tow position at all times when using it with a Sidewinder like the # RP61412.
The only thing I recommend to add is the custom wedge for Curt E-16 hitches # C16991. The custom wedge ensures the best fit between the Sidewinder and the hitch.
