Question:

Hi I have a 2006 ford ranger. with factory wiring. after looking at your product guide I came up with a Hopkins hm40655 plug in 4 pole simple wiring harness to install on my truck. Is that the right product? is there anything else I would need ? my camper has the 4pole on it.

The Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle 4-Pole Wiring Harness # HM40655 is intended for vehicles without any factory tow package wiring, although it could still be installed in a truck that does have this feature. This item installs by plugging in to the vehicle at its taillight wiring connectors rather than at the round U.S. Car connector that would be found tucked up under the rear bumper on a tow-package-equipped vehicle. For a vehicle with that round connector (see photo please) you could instead use 4-pole harness # C55515 which simply plugs in to the round connector.
