Question:
My prodigy after 12 years is now staying on when truck is unattended. It displays a code 2.2 and 2.5 without touching the brakes engine running. When I step on brake pedal it displays the number 12. What is going on?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Normally a Prodigy trailer brake controller will go into sleep mode after it has been still for about 15-minutes. At this point its display should go dark.
My tech at Tekonsha suggested you try to re-set the unit. Disconnect the trailer. The unplug the Prodigy from the under-dash harness. Let the unit sit unpowered for about 15-minutes; then plug it back it (but do not yet connect the trailer).
If the unit flashes the message NC (trailer not connected) and then shows only 2 small dots, then the unit is okay. Any other behavior indicates an internal malfunction and the controller should be replaced with a P2 # 90885 or P3 # 90195.
