Trailer Wiring Recommendation for 2012 Mercedes Benz R 350

Question:
Im going to purchase a trailer hitch and wiring harness for our 2012 Mercedes R 350 3.5 L gas 4matic. Based on your website the hitch is no issue but in discussion with local Mercedes technician a harness will not necessarily work without some reset having to do with the middle brake light. Appreciate any feedback that you could provide on experience about this and the recommendations for a trailer wiring kit. Also the trailer has LED lights which apparently can cause an issue without an additional adapter. Appreciate any and all input

For a trailer wiring solution for you 2012 Mercedes Benz that will bypass all of the issues you described you would want the ZCI kit part # 119250KIT. Since this harness does not require any hardwiring and uses your turn signal circuits as only signal wire it would not cause any of the issues you described. Basically you would attach the sensors to the taillight wiring of your vehicle and then run the power wire up to the battery which allows all of the amperage of your trailer wiring to be drawn directly from the battery.
Your Mercedes computer/taillights wouldn't even know you had taillight wiring installed and that is why none of the issues you described would arise.
