I have a 2016 F-150 with a towing package but no trailer control. It came witha small wiring harness in the glove box part # FL3T-14A348-AA. I would like to install a Hayes Genesis # 81790 and harness # 081789-HBC universal to the 2016 F-150. Will the truck computer need to be flashed, to recognize the controller, so it will not mess up the brake lights.

You will not have to flash the computer on your 2016 Ford F-150 to install the Hayes Genesis brake controller # HA81790. I do recommend using the vehicle specific wiring harness # HA81794-HBC instead of a universal one that you would have to splice into the Ford harness. If you use the vehicle specific harness you can just plug the controller straight into the truck without having an intermediate harness between the 2.
