Why Pneumatic Or Concertina Rivet Gun Is Used When Installing Rhino-Rack RT-Style Roof Rack Tracks
Updated 12/21/2016 | Published 12/20/2016 >
Question:
The install instructions specifically call for a pneumatic or concertina type rivet gun. WHY? I dont have either and before I go out and buy a new tool why `cant a more standard rivet gun be used? Thanks

Per the instructions at step 12 for the Rhino-Rack RT-Style Roof Rack Tracks, it states that you should use the pneumatic or concertina style rivet gun because the rivets have to be firmly seated in the tracks.
Using a normal hand rivet gun may not provide enough force to secure the rivets and that would mean removal of the rivets by drilling them out and replacing them. The manufacturer is stressing that the tracks need to be well secured so they recommend the rivet guns that they are certain will work best for the installation.
