Yes, you will need to permanently remove the front air dam on the 2016 Nissan Frontier in order to install either of the front mount hitches available for it; # 65075 or # 31241. In my opinion having to remove it rather than having to trim it is better because at least you still have the intact part should you ever need to put it back on.
