2009 Nissan Xterra Can I use this carrier on a front mount hitch? Considering pairing it with the Curt 31514 Front Mount Hitch

The Curt Front Mount Hitch # 31514 will fit on your 2009 Nissan Xterra. You will have to remove the front tow hook to install this hitch. This hitch is a 3,500 lb.rated hitch and will have a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs.
The Tow Ready Hitch Cargo Carrier # 63153 will fit the Curt 2 inch hitch, but when it is used on a 3,500 lbs. rated hitch you will be limited to a tongue weight capacity of 300 lbs.
You will also want to make sure you do not exceed the front axle Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) on your 2009 Nissan Xterra. This will be listed in the owners manual or on the specification plate located on driver's door frame. Exceeding the GAWR may overload the front axle and/or suspension and cause damage.
