There is no drilling required when installing the Draw-Tite Class III 2 Inch Trailer Hitch # 75512 on a 2009 Mazda CX-7. You will need to lower the exhaust in the rear by removing the exhaust from the rubber hangers, but it will be connected back to the hangers after the hitch is installed.
I am including links to the installation instructions of the Draw-Tite hitch and a video link that will show the hitch being installed on a 2007 Mazda CX-7.
Draw-Tite says an installation by a professional would take about one hour. So a person with average mechanical abilities should take about two to three hours.
If you will be towing, you will need the Draw-Tite Ball Mount, # 2753, and the Pin and Clip, # PC3. You will also need a hitch ball like the Tow Ready 2 inch Hitch Ball, # 19247.
The wiring harness you would use is the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118405. If you have the factory tow package you will use the Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness # C55593. I am including links to the installation instructions on both wiring harnesses.
