Would this mount be the best option if I wanted to mount a Snowsport HD to the front of my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK Rubicon? Would I have to make any additional modifications to my jeep to make this fit the Snowsport HD?

We have just what you need to install a plow on the front of your 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited but the front hitch part # 65069 is not the hitch to use for a plow.
Instead you would want the part # 31432 as it sits lower within the height range of the K2 # K2AVAL8219 that you are interested in using. This is a great plow that works well and has a very simple, effective design. No wiring of winches or worrying about keep the right height of the plow.
