I currently have a 2005 F250 with I believe RideRite Kit 2400. I want to see what it would take to transfer bags to a 2016 F250. I am thinking I only need brackets to fit the new truck.

Yes, I confirmed with Firestone that all you need are the brackets. They told me if you have a diesel you will need brackets # F5726, # F5572, and # F5717. If your truck runs on gasoline then you'll need # F5380 and # F5572.
The diesel truck uses two different brackets for the top, one for each side. Both sides use the same bracket on the gasoline truck.
