Question:
I am trying to connect a electric trailer tongue jack, with a 7 way plug, to my factory installed female 7 way. When I plug it in the jack on my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 doesnt work. The jack mfg. says it is in the factory installed 7 way. What do I need to do to have these connect right?

First check to see if the 12-volt circuit is active on the 7-Way on your 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. Use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to test the pin in the 1 o'clock position. The truck key may have to be on. That pin should show 12 volts. If it does not, then there could be a tow package fuse that is blown or missing. Use the lids on the fuse panels (under the hood and in the cab) to determine the tow package fuses to check them.
If there is 12-volt power on that pin, then the issue is with either the jack's connector or the jack itself and not the vehicle at all.
