Can Sunroof Be Opened While Using Thule AeroBlade Edge Crossbars on 2013 Volvo XC90

Hello, I am considering purchasing Thule AeroBlade Edge 7603, Thule AeroBlade Edge 7602, KIT4006 for my 2013 Volvo XC90 with flush rails. My question is whether I will be able to open the sun roof if I install these, or if there is a way that it can be installed so that the sun roof can still be used.

For your 2013 Volvo XC60 with flush mounted side rails, the roof rack you mentioned is a great choice. I highly recommend the Thule WingBar # TH711220, Feet # TH710601, and Fit Kit # TH186015 as it will offer you a high quality rack that is designed to provide a quieter ride over traditional square crossbars. The Aero Blade # TH7602-TH7603 you referenced is being updated but is not yet available.

If the sun roof on your vehicle extends past the top of the vehicle's roof when opened, there is a chance the sun roof will contact the underside of the crossbars. If you decide you'd like to open the sun roof with the rack installed, you will first want to carefully check the clearance of the window with the rack installed. Each time a different carrier or accessory is installed on the rack, you would want to check the clearance of the sun roof again. I've attached a photo showing what this crossbar looks like installed on a similar vehicle with raised side rails and a sunroof. In addition to potentially contacting the crossbars, the wind noise from the rack will increase with the sun roof open.
