In order for a performance monitor product to display any given engine parameter, such as transmission fluid temperature, the vehicle must include this data in the feed that goes to the OBD-II port where such monitors connect. Not every vehicle includes the same data set so you'll want to confirm that your truck does, by checking with your dealership using its VIN. My contact at Edge indicated that your 4Runner should have this data feed but you can confirm with the dealer.
Both of the Edge brand monitors made for your 4Runner are shown on the linked page, their Insight CTS2 # EP84130 and their lower-priced no-touch-screen CS2 version # EP84030.
These are monitoring devices only; they do not allow for re-tuning the engine nor for alteration of any other vehicle operating parameters.
