Can the Thule Spare Me Tire Mount Bike Rack be Locked

Question:

Looking at the rack I dont see any pictures that shows any kind of locking mechanism to prevent theft from unbolting the rack from the spare tire. Other brands thule, yakima have a spin lock on them preventing the rack from being removed from the spare tire. Is there a way to lock the rack to the car?

The Thule Spare me bike rack # TH963PRO used the One-Key System for its locks. It has locks to secure the rack and your bikes. It uses a locking hand knob to secure the rack to the mounting plate. It also has an integrated cable lock to secure your bikes to the rack. I have included a link to a video review of this rack for you.

The best thing you can do is use a standard cable lock like the Saris # SA981 Michael mentioned above. You would just loop it through the spare tire rim and around the rack/bikes. This will secure the carrier and bikes to your vehicle. There isn't a specific lock designed for this particular rack.
