Where Do Fifth Wheel Rails Install in Bed of 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Short Bed
Question:
Hi there I just have a question. Im trying to find the exact location to put my rails on my 2004 Dodge ram 1500 its a crew cab with a 6 foot box. The hitch Im trying to instal is a valley 7054 50 wheel hitch. Im just really looking for the distance from the back of my box to the first rail. My mounting kit is also a universal kit that mounts to the side of my frame not up and underneath

For your 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 6 foot bed we offer the universal fifth wheel rail kit part # RP30035-023 which recommends a distance of 26-5/16 inches from the edge of the truck bed to the rear edge of the rear rail. Then you would use the hitch to locate the front rail.
