The stabilizing straps mentioned in the installation instructions for Curt Trailer Hitch, # 11233, (linked below), are the Curt Bike Rack Strap with Cambuckle, # 18050.
Basically, you will want to attach one end to the item being used on the trailer hitch, like a bike rack for example, and the other end at a secure point on the vehicle. Ideally in the groove at the top of the trunk if possible or another point in that same vicinity.
