Adjustable Ball Mount Recommendation that Can Fit 2 inch and 2-1/2 inch Hitch

Question:
Can the 2 1/2 extension sleeve be removed as well so the hitch can be used in both a 2 inch and 2 1/2 inch hitch receiver? Also, have there been any complaints of dirt or other contaminants getting in the screw mounts making it difficult to change the adjustment of the ball height? If Im going to spend over $200 on a hitch, I want this to be the last hitch I purchase. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a solution for you, but the reducer sleeve that comes with Fastway adjustable ball mount, # DTSTBM6625, cannot be removed from the shank. The fasteners holding it on are there for additional stability and support and the anti-rattle feature also prevents it from coming off.
There are some options that might work for you though. You could use adjustable ball mount # DTALBM6600 for 2 inch hitches and the stand alone adapter sleeve, # DTADP35, when using it in a 2-1/2 inch receiver. I have included links to videos on these products for you.
