Thule's Interstate Rooftop Cargo Bag # TH869 is designed to fit on just about any vehicle that has either a roof rack or factory-installed raised roof side rails that run front-to-back on the roof. Either of these vehicle features provides the necessary attachment point for the bag.
If you do not have any structure on the roof to secure the bag then your options are to install a roof rack to hold the bag, or to use a different cargo bag that can be installed on a vehicle without cross bars or raised side rails.
Highland offers their 18-cubic-foot waterproof cargo bag # RL100S30 that will work on cars that have a bare roof. This bag measures 48- x 40- x 19-inches. They also offer a smaller 9-cu-ft bag, part # RL100S50, which measures 36- x 30- x 14-1/2 inches. Both include mounting straps that are routed through the car's interior.
If you prefer you can install a roof rack on the CR-V. If you have raised side rails then you can use the Rhino-Rack Vortex system made of parts # RRVA106B-2 and # RRSX100. A videos is linked for you.
Often customers using rooftop cargo carriers also select a tire step like the # HE4040 to give them easier access to the roof for loading and unloading cargo. This fully-assembled step simply slips over a rear tire when you need it and folds up for storage.
