Question:
I am wanting to purchase a class III hitch for my 1996 Ford Bronco XLT it has a 33 gallon tank, I have seen comments on sites where I may need to drop the tank to install it, it there a hitch that will install without dropping the tank, I really have not looked close to see if a hitch may clear the tank, but the tank does obviously sit lower than a 20 gallon tank so I am wondering if that affects how the hitch will mount, I have installed hitches on the many F-150 trucks I have owed and that alwasy need clearance for the spare tire, this is my first Bronco and I am thinking that the tank may take up the same space as the spare on the F-150s so it may still bolt right on. Thanks,

We don't have any fit notes for having to drop the fuel tank of your 1996 Ford Bronco to install a Class III hitch like the # 75038. I did some googling and found that one guy had to fishwire his hardware through the frame to get around the fuel tank but that's really not that difficult.
For a bolt leader to do this you would need the part # 80101-1. I attached a help video on fishwiring for you to check out as well.
