Question:
We just purchased a 2016 Highland Ridge equipped with a Trail Air pin box, we have taken it from Ohio to Florida twice and we have a lot of slop when braking and accelerating. It sounds like the fifth wheel is going to come thru the back of our truck, especially bad in stop and go traffic. We have a 2004 F-350 Super duty 6.0 diesel truck. My question is this normal or do we have the wrong hitch for our trailer? Our trailer is 42.6 ft. Long if that makes a difference. Thanks.

Since you are using a suitable tow vehicle and your 5th wheel trailer is new I suggest you check the air pressure in your Trailair pin box to ensure it is inflated correctly. It sounds like you are not getting those benefits so air pressure adjustment would be the simplest potential fix.
The internal air bag should be inflated (with the loaded trailer hitched) until the outer cylinder of the shock rises high enough to fully expose the yellow inflation indicator sticker. Please refer to the linked photo. If there is a problem with the inflation valve, air spring or the shock we offer replacements, part # LC156740 and part # LC177223. These are all exact replacement parts from Lippert, maker of the Trailair.
