Is a Rotabroach Drill Bit Needed to Enlarge Frame Holes for Trailer Hitch Installation on a Mazda 5

Question:

Will this tool make it easy to enlarge the two existing holes/mounting points in my Mazda 5? Do I need to hold up the hitch to serve as a guide? I am just concerned that the bit will jump around, and if I mess up, I wont be able to mount a hitch. Thanks!

The Rotabroach Hole Cutting Tool with Pilot, # 6810, and other similar bits are used to drill holes in the hard steel frames of vehicles and trailers where no holes exist. A regular drill bit, made for drilling into metal/steel would work fine for enlarging existing holes on your Mazda 5 and will be less likely to jump while drilling.

On some trailer hitch installations, the hitch is used as a template when holes need to be drilled. But if the instructions point out which holes need to be enlarged, you should not have to hold the hitch in place while enlarging them if no new holes are being drilled.
