Question:

Aim to remove a 5504 brake controller currently mounting and working on a 2005 Chevrolet Avalance and reinstall onto another vehicle early 2006 model GMC Sierra 2500HD is the mounting the same?

Expert Reply:

Physically installing and mounting the brake controller # 5504 will be the same. As always, before you drill your mounting holes, check for clearance so that you do not pierce any wires.

If you use a plug-in harness for your brake controller, the two trucks should have the same brake controller port.
