According to my contact at Tow Ready, as along as all the fuses and relays included with the # 118270 are correctly installed, the trailer connector should work just fine. The # 118270 will work regardless of if the vehicle was equipped with the tow package or not, as long as the connector for the harness is in place under the vehicle.
If you click the provided link, you can see the installation instruction for the # 118270 wiring harness. I've also linked you to a video showing the trailer connector being installed on a 2015 Traverse. The video will work you right through the installation.
If you look at the photo I've provided, it shows exactly where the fuses and relays need to be added.
