If you need to tow a trailer and transport bikes with your 2005 Chevy Impala you are going to need to go with a roof rack for the bikes and a trailer hitch for the trailer. There are some options to tow a trailer and carry a hitch bike rack, but they require a heavier duty hitch than what would fit your Impala.
For a trailer hitch you would want the Draw-Tite part # 36407 which has been confirmed as a fit. You will need ball mount part # 36061. For a 2 inch ball you would need part # 19258 or for a 1-7/8 inch ball part # 19256. Then for trailer wiring you would want the part # C56116.
Then for a roof rack you would want the Rhino Rack part # DS126B and # DK146 which has been confirmed as a fit. Then for a wheel mounted bike rack you would want the Discovery part # RRRBC050.
