Tips for Trailer Hitch that Won't Line Up Totally with Install Holes
Published 02/19/2016 >
Question:
I recently purchased a Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver Class II - 1-1/4 for my 2006 Lexus ES330. I have managed to get 4 of the 5 bolts in. But the opening for the 5th bolt the forward-most bolt on the driver side does not quite line up with the hole on the frame. It seems to be off by about 1/8 inch, and I cannot get the bolt in. Ive tried loosening the bolts already in, tightening them, shifting and adjusting the hitch every way possible - no luck. Have you seen this before? Do you have a solution? I have pictures I can send. Please help. Thanks,

It is possible that the # 36336 hitch you have bent slightly in shipping. We see this happen occasionally and since that rear bracket is a separate piece from the bracket in front of it could have easily bent in or out.
What you can do is try bending the hitch back slightly to get the hole to line up. As long as there is no paint flaking or creases in the metal you would be fine.
