Question:
expert Michael H. I think said he owns the HM50002. My vehicle is a 2014 F-150 Super Crew. What is the difference between the HM60195VA and the HM50002 cameras regarding function? is it that the ......195VA has night vision and a smaller screen I think I only need the HM50002 since I dont need night vision. Also the HM50002 is cheaper now and has a larger screen plus the hitch mode if I understand correctly? My purpose for the camera is to substitute for my factory camera when I have to remove my tailgate when I am using my camper. This camper is made by 4 Wheel Camper company and does extend past the bed of my truck. Thank you,

I can help you spot the differences between the Hopkins Smart Hitch and the NVision.
First both the NVision # HM60195VA and the Smart Hitch # HM50002 are made by the same company Hopkins, so they will have many similarities, but there are a few differences.
The Smart Hitch # HM50002 does have the hitch mode and the everyday mode where as the NVision only has the "everyday" mode.
In Everyday Mode, the monitor will display a grid in red, yellow, and green that alerts you to the distance of objects on the display with red indicating that the object is very close to your vehicle and green indicating the object is at a safe distance. This grid works in conjunction with SmartZone sensors that beep to alert you of objects and distances. The beeps intensify as you get closer to an object.
In Hitch Mode, the monitor provides center-line assistance for easy hookup to your trailer coupler. The grid creates a target as you back up, ensuring that you keep your vehicle in line with the coupler as you get closer. This allows one person to hitch up to a trailer without the need for a spotter.
The Smart Hitch # HM50002 does have a 3.5 inch color monitor which is larger than the 2.5 inch LCD color monitor on the NVision. The Smart Hitch also has an adjustable camera head that can be raised/lowered as well as the camera be adjusted up/down for optimal vertical view but the NVision can adjust up/down for the vertical view and adjust left/right for horizontal viewing, which allows you to move out of the way of the lift gate.
Basically the Smart Hitch has the some of the features of the NVision but was tailored for a customer who is towing but also wants the functions of an everyday use camera too. If it were me I recommend going with the Smart Hitch # HM50002 because it has the larger screen and the hitching mode for me if in the future I decided to tow a trailer in addition to my camper. Plus the price is hard to beat.
