Question:
as I was ready to view the instruction movie ,I noticed the instructions is for the 2014 silverado. is the 3016 adapter good for both years and is the box location to the 2014 the same as the 2016. I traded my 2014 silverado for a 2016. I pulled out the harness from the bottom left. is the same for the 2016 ?

Brake controller wiring harness # 3016 for Tekonsha brake controllers does indeed fit your 2016 Chevy Silverado. The location where it plugs in is also the same between a 2014 and a 2016: in the junction box attached to the firewall where it plugs into the first spot on the far left under the blue plastic bracket. The video linked will also help.
