Question:
Need to know if the #5504 electronic bc will work on my 2007 Ford sport trac factory equipped with a 7 outlet connector. Will I have to look for a plug under the dash and if so moreless where will I find it? trailer has brakes on one axle and is equipped with a wire supposedly for safety purposes. Have no idea where to connect it. Person I purchased from did not have the brakes connected. Would greatly appreciate some help. Thanks

Brake controllers are not vehicle specific so you will be able to use the Draw-Tite 2-4 Brake Electronic Brake Controller, # 5100, on your 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite and he stated you will be able to use the Brake Controller Wiring Harness, # 3035-P.
Your Explorer Sport Trac has a factory connector on the right side of the steering column, under the dash, right about at the edge. It will plug into this harness. The other end (black connector) will need to be clipped off (it usually plugs into the back of a brake controller but the Activator # 5504 has blunt cut wires instead of an outlet for the harness). You will then splice the wires from the # 5504 brake controller to the wires on the harness, color for color, to complete the installation.
