Question:
I am building a set of ramps for a heavy equipment trailer. The ramps will weigh approximately 250-300lbs each. How many springs should be installed to make the ramps easy to lift but still fold down?

The Redline Ramp Spring like part # RS16933RH and part # RS16933LH will help with lifting the ramps you said you are building for your trailer. I would recommend 1 spring for each ramp.
These springs are made of steel alloy, these springs provide approximately 90 degrees of deflection and are designed to help lift a ramp with 2,000 pounds of torque.
