What would be the best pull capacity for a winch to pull cars onto a car trailer?

I recommend the Superwinch S3000, # 1430200 or the Superwinch S4000, # 1440200. The GP 3000 has a rolling load capacity of 3,850 pounds at a 45 degree angle. The S4000 has a rolling load capacity of 5,784 pounds at a 45 degree angle. These capacities can be doubled with a pulley block, # SW2229A, and double line operation. For powering either of these trailer winches, I recommend the Winch Trailer Wiring Kit for up to 4K Winches, # SW1520. It will includes all the necessary wiring and connectors to wire the winch to the tow vehicle battery.
Mount your winch in a location that will allow it to pull the car completely on the trailer and keeps the winch cable from contacting the trailer bed and frame when pulling the vehicle up onto the car trailer. I have included links to some FAQ articles on electric winches for you as well.
