Backup Camera Recommendation for Helping Back Trailer into Campsite
Updated 01/11/2016 | Published 01/10/2016 >
Question:
I am looking at the Rampage Wireless Backup Camera for use with my travel trailer. I want to mount it to the back of the trailer so I can use it when backing into a site. The product info doesnt show a rear view for backing up, Is this just used for short distances such as lining up the hitch ? Does it have a wide angle view such as 120 degrees or more ? Perhaps there is a better suggestion. I was hoping to us my iPhone so I dont have a screen mounted in the cab.

The Rampage Wireless Backup Camera # RA7710 that you referenced would work well at the back of a trailer to help with backing into a campsite as that is one of it's intended uses.
I spoke to my contact at Rampage and he said they do not have an exact viewing angle for the Rampage Camera part # RA7710 that you referenced. He said it's not a super wide angle so it wouldn't be wide enough to use as a blind spot eliminator but it will display what's behind you. The best I can do is have you check out the pictures of the display that I attached and the review video we did for the setup to give you an idea what the angle would be.
You would just need to point it up higher than what is shown in the picture.
This will work well with your iPhone as well. I attached a review video for you to check out too.
