How To Install Trailer Wiring Harness on 2016 Honda Odyssey SE with Rear Vacuum Cleaner Option
Published 01/07/2016 >
Question:
Just curious if anyone has found a solution to the Honda Odyssey trailer wiring when it includes the HondaVac. The HondaVac is now standard in the 2016 Odyssey SE trim line so this might be a more popular option now. I ordered this part and then saw this review and am wondering how much of a problem this might be now? I assume you removed the rear trim panel and still couldnt find a location to route the wire from fuse box? Etrailer any chance a new video or pictures can be posted showing a HondaVac install. Please let me know if anyone has any new information on this or ideas other than running it external from the fuse box? Thanks

Although Tow Ready hasn't done an install on an Odyssey that's equipped with the HondaVac option, I was able to obtain some very welcome feedback from one of our Customers who recently installed the # 118521 on his 2015 Odyssey SE with the integrated vacuum cleaner. Below is the information he kindly provided:
The procedure follows the same install steps provided in video, the only difference is the routing of the wires and the location of the control box.
- unscrew the HondVac hose
- Take out the HondaVac canister
- Take out the black large flag fastener at bottom of Vac housing
- Now pop out the side trim panel by removing the one mounting screw and pop 3 fasteners
- You should now have enough room to route the wiring harness from fuse box over the
sub woofer and down along the HondaVac (using 1 cable tie)
- The control box can be fitted under the HondaVac canister location. It fits perfect.
- You can also route the trailer connector into the compartment that stores the vacuum cleaner and store it under the vac canister.
I attached some images that should explain it in more details.
