Just bought 2016 Equinox w tow package and it has a flat 4-pole connector. My boat trailer is 5-pole and has surge brakes. So I bought your 4 pole to 5 pole adapter. but want to know if you have a 5-pole connector harness that would replace the existing factory harness? Or, is the Equinoxs connector for a 4-pole only? I have not received the adapter but it will be here any day.

Yes, there is a 5-Way connector that will plug right into the tail light wiring on your 2016 Chevy Equinox. It is # C56594. Since it plugs in line with the vehicle tail light wiring it can be used on vehicles with or without the factory tow package. I have included a link to the installation details for you.
