i have an older brake controller not the new P2-P3 will it work on my dodge ram 2014 with the new wiring harness

With Dodge trucks built after 2013, the older brake controllers do not work well. If you follow our fitguide for brake controllers on a 2014 Dodge you will not see any of the older brake controllers listed for that reason.

I recommend a newer brake controller like part # 90885. Since you have the brake controller port under the dash of your truck, you can then use part # 3023-P adapter that plugs right into the back of the brake controller.
