LED Brake Light Trailer Hitch Receiver Cover Blinking Operation and Dim Appearance

Question:
I have one of these, but it is not very bright. In fact, daytime operation isnt really impressive or as noticeable compared to vehicles led lights... I assume this may be due to age? Also, theres some conflicting information on operation. Mine flashes with either turn signal with brakes applied. I read on this site alone, that the operation of mine is normal, and that it is not. The other info says it does not flash with either signal with brakes applied. Was it an update in the product, making both answers correct?

The Oval L.E.D. Brake Light Trailer Hitch Receiver Cover, # CR-017, will blink with the turn signals but should only blink when the brake is applied AND one the turn signal is on.
If you look at the 4-Way on the light, you will see that it has a white, brown, yellow, and green wire. White is ground and brown is running lights. Yellow is combine brake and left turn signal, and green is combined brake and right turn signal.
As far as it not being very bright it could be age. But it could also mean that there is corrosion in or on the pins on the vehicle connector, hitch cover connector, or both. Cleaning the connects with a narrow wire brush will help create a better connection and that could help.
