What Does Over or Under 80 Mean for Trailer Lights

Question:

stupid question but the under 80inch and over 80inch refers to what? Is it the width of the trailer? I need to replace a tail light but I am contemplating replacing it all with the TL36RK

The over/under 80 inch does indeed refer to the width of the trailer. You can use the over 80 light kit # TL36RK either way. But you would not use an under 80 kit for an over 80 trailer. I have also included a link to our help article on trailer lighting requirements.
