Will the Thule TH869 work on my 2009 GMC Acadia, it has factory rack with side rails only? Do I need to get cross bars? Thanks

Cross bars are recommended when installing Thule Interstate Expandable Roof Rack Cargo Bag, item # TH869. The cross bars keep the bag from sliding forward and back on the vehicle roof during acceleration and braking and protect the vehicle roof from damage by keeping the bag stationary when installed. Make sure to clean the roof before installing the bag to keep dirt, between the bag and roof, to a minimum so the roof does not get scratched.
Cross bars for your 2009 GMC Acadia consist of the Inno Square Crossbars Roof Rack, item # INFR, and the Square 46 inch CrossBars, item # INB117. The total weight of the rack and load must not exceed the weight limit for that vehicle factory rack.
