Will Hayes Brake Control Suffer RF interference and Overheating

Question:

Does the HA81790 brake controller have a problem with RF interference. Some cannot tolerate any RF interference, ex. cb radios, cell phones, 2 way radios. Also, is there an operating temperature limit. Some have mentioned 90 degrees and this could also be a problem.

I spoke with my contact at Hayes and he said the Hayes Genesis Trailer Brake Controller # HA81790 will not suffer any interference from cellphones, CB radios, etc. Based on my research most manufacturers of brake controllers insist on 12 to 18 inches of separation between CB radios and their brake controllers. I suggest mounting the brake controller and radio as far as possible away from each other to avoid interference when the brakes are applied. Distance is the key to keeping the electrical components from interfering with each other.

He also said he was not aware of any temperature limit and thought you may be referring to the mounting angel which can be between -90 degrees ,straight down, and 90 degrees, straight up.
