Question:
Landscaping trailer-gate too much of an angle to get lawn tractor blade to clear trailer gate onto trailer. Can I turn trailer hitch upside down of is there a more common sense approach?

If the trailer is not sitting level, then I would suggest getting a new ball mount that raises or lowers the ball so that when the trailer couples, it sits level. You do not want the nose of the trailer to go much higher than level. This will reduce the tongue weight the trailer exerts down on the ball and this can lead to sway troubles.
If a ball mount of a different height would get your trailer level and solve your problems, I have added a link to a page that shows you how to select a ball mount. Basically what you will do is measure the hitch height on the tow vehicle, then measure the coupler height. The difference between the two measurements will tell you what rise or drop ball mount you need. I have also added a link to our ball mount department page.
Many lawn tractors have adjustable decks or ride heights. You may be able to raise the deck or ride height to clear the loading ramp.
