Could a Chevy Tahoe Be Used for a Construction Job Site, Roof Rack Recommendation for Ladders

Published 08/04/2015

Question:

Im about to start work where a truck is required...to safely haul a double ladder, and house various equipment in the bed cable/internet/phone install. I have gotten mixed reviews on the viability of using an SUV, namely a 97-99 2door Tahoe, as my first choice. One worker said that an SUV should be fine as long as it can safely carry the ladder...but the managers seemed a bit sketical because they thought I planned I guess to tie the damn thing down to the luggage racks! My question: are their accessories existing for tahoes that would suffice or even be included with or available for purchase that are specifically made for certain models... ? I saw this link on my first search and had some hope restored! Pls tell me what you know and what you think of this...

Some construction workers will end up using an SUV to and from the jobsite without any problems. Ideally you would get a truck though since it's easier to clean out a truck bed than the interior of an SUV. But the SUV does offer a bit more security for your tools/gear since it wouldn't leave anything out in the bed of a truck.

For the ladders you would need a roof rack though. I attached a page that has all of the roof racks we offer for a 1998 Chevy Tahoe for you to check out.
