To supply 12-volt power to the 7-way connector for any trailer accessories, you will need to run a length of 12 gauge wire (like part # 12-1-1) from the appropriate pin on the trailer connector up to the positive battery terminal. You will need to protect this 12-volt accessory feed circuit with an inline 40 amp circuit breaker, part # 9510. For easy access, this breaker is typically mounted close to the battery. The breaker has two terminals, labeled AUX and BATT. The wire running from the trailer connector attaches to the AUX terminal, and the wire running to the battery attaches to the BATT terminal.

Because this circuit is attached directly to the vehicle battery, it will be important to remember to unplug the trailer from the vehicle whenever the vehicle is not running, to avoid discharging the battery on the tow vehicle.
