Recommended Roof Rack For 2013 Honda CR-V With Sunroof To Carry Thule Evolution Cargo Box

Will this rack or what others work with a Thule Evolution 1600XT carrier and a 2013 CRV with a sunroof? Thanks!

The Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack with Vortex Crossbars would work well with your 2013 Honda CR-V and your Evolution Cargo Box. I called my contact at Thule and the Evolution is designed to fit square crossbars only.

The roof rack has 54 inch long crossbars that measure 1-1/4 x 7/8 inches and have a weight capacity of 165 lbs. For this roof rack you would need parts # RRVA137B-2, # RRRLKVA, and part # DK284. The clamps for the roof rack are designed to fit the curves of door jambs on your CR-V.

You will want to make sure you do not exceed the roof weight capacity of your CR-V. When calculating weight you need to include the weight of the cargo box and any cargo placed inside the box.

To make it easier to reach the contents of the cargo box when it is on the roof I recommend using a tire step like part # HE4040. This has a weight capacity of 400 lbs and folds flat when not in use.

You should always use extreme caution when you want to open the sunroof on your vehicle when the roof rack is installed.
