Question:
the kot came with two parts onne being a flat square washer that appears to be rounded to fit just under the under latch, the other is a washer that has two ears that maybe the nut is suppose to lock into. no illustration with the kit? carry on part 143

It is hard to say exactly what latch kit you have since part 143 doesn't relate to any of the latch repair kits we offer. But in case you are trying to install the part # CP02-050 that you referenced I attached an install video and a diagram that shows how it all goes together.
Most latch kits will install very similar to this one so it should work as a guide either way.
