Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2015 Jeep Compass

Question:

Im looking to buy a wiring harness for my 2015 Jeep Compass Sport. I notice in the picture that the end of the wire is a male end? Does this wiring harness come with a female end? My trailer wiring harness has the male end on it. Thank you,

The 4-way connector that comes with the Tow Ready Wiring Harness part # 118539 that you referenced is the standard vehicle side 4-way. It sounds like someone wired up your trailer with the wrong 4-way. So your best option would be to replace it with a # 18004.

Installed #118539 onto 2017 jeep compass (old body) and lights worked for a trip down the road. Blown fuse on the power side up at the battery. replaced it and it happened again. Should i bump up the amperage to 25? Thanks in advance.

The Tekonsha # 118539 harness itself has an amp capacity of 4.2 amps on the stop/turn light circuits and 7.5 amps on the running lights circuit, so going with a higher rated fuse likely won't help. It's possible that the fuse is being blown for a different reason, such as a short somewhere on the trailer wiring. I would inspect the trailer's 4-Way for any corrosion inside the pins that needs to be cleaned out. Also make sure there aren't any exposed/damaged portions of wire that could be touching the frame.
