Trailer Hitch and 1-1/4 to 2 Inch Expander for a 2001 Buick Century

Question:
Yes is the hitch a reese two inch squaire receaver type or not ? I have several types of items I use and want to use on my Buick Centry Custom 2001. I do not care if I have to cut a hole in the plastic bumper if need be!

All of the trailer hitches for your 2001 Buick Century have 1-1/4 inch receivers including # 36374. But what you can do is use an expander, # HTAD. It fits into the 1-1/4 inch receiver and has a 2 inch receiver on the other end. The only thing about this is by using the expander the tongue weight capacity of the hitch will be reduced by 50 percent.
So on hitch # 36374 the regular tongue weight capacity is 300 pounds. By using the expander that capacity is reduced to 150 pounds.
